Is Tasmania's first-home established-home exemption still available?
The 100% exemption applied to qualifying established homes valued up to $750,000 that settled from 18 February 2024 through 30 June 2026. It is not available for transactions settling after 30 June 2026. Earlier eligibility does not establish an exemption for a later settlement.
Official TAS Revenue Office guidance — Is Tasmania's first-home established-home exemption still available? Why does the Tasmanian calculator ask for a settlement date?
The established-home exemption is based on when the transfer completes. Both transaction and settlement information are needed to avoid applying an expired benefit. Unsupported dates stop the estimate rather than silently using current rules.
Official TAS Revenue Office guidance — Why does the Tasmanian calculator ask for a settlement date?Does selecting a first-home buyer automatically remove Tasmanian duty?
No. Buyer type alone does not establish eligibility, and no general first-home duty relief is modelled for settlements after 30 June 2026. Any new-home grant is separate from property transfer duty.
